Heyy it's Shekiera Brooks speaking aka Tupac. We are currently on christmas break and it's sad too say, but I can't wait until school starts. There is literally no one on campus and I feel like I'm in a scary movie. Besides that we get a lot of free food which is awesome. We ate at this place moosehead which is the best place I've ever been too. Today coach is having something at her house. I'm not sure what it is but there's going to be food there so I' ll be there. Then tomorrow we're eating at tali tomorrow I can't wait for that. Off topic here but the bus rides are fun!! We watch the best movies, and it's funny too see the way people sleep on the bus. I know I'm a creep but it just cracks me up. We play a bunch of games because all of the bus rides seems like they're never going to end. I literally think that every bus ride is ten hours. The season is going. We're going to end this season on a strong note. THAT IS ALL FOLKS xoxox Baby Tupac #11

Countdown!

Otterbein TOMORROW!
Christmas 4 days!
Michigan 6 days!

The Yellow Jackets are in full swing and are preparing day by day, practice by practice and possession by possession for our tasks at hand. Finals are through, grades are in and we have been on Christmas break for a week now. Over this past week, we have gone to out to dinner at Buca and Moosehead (new found favorite of mine), and helped those campers at Camp Cheerful, gone to breakfast at Bob Evans (a personal favorite) and Perkins. Tomorrow, we will host Otterbein, then it is on to celebrate a win and Christmas! After the holiday we will be travelling to Hope Michigan where we will play in two games! I am looking forward to all these exciting events coming up!

Merry Christmas!

CHRISTMAS BREAK

Hello Lady Yellow Jackets & Friends!

It is the first friday of break! I love thinking that we should have had class all week, but thanks to Christmas break, we have been able to relax and focus on basketball! So far we have been out to eat at some pretty yummy places, including this Moosehead something er another restaurant. It is easily one of my favorite restaurants ever. I got a Moosini. In case anyone was wondering. We jsut got done with practice and now have some free time before we hit up Tony K's. I think that all the free food has got to be my favorite part of break. And the team bonding, duh.  Our christmas party isn't until after christmas this year, but that will be alright. Now we have more time for us to practice our skit.  Or plan our skit, because we really have no idea what we are doing so far.  (Every year the freshamn and the upperclassman each put on a skit at the party).  I would also like to say that I'm beginning to be addicted to mario kart on the wii in the locker room. It is too fun. And with all of the downtime, the mario kart theme song is pretty much on constantly in the locker room. But I'm totallllllyyyy not complaining. I love it. Tomorrow we have a huge game vs otterbein. This exact same game 2  years ago was one of my all time favorite games as a player.   We were down by at least 20 points in the second half and fought our way back to being only down three! Then Captain America, Rachel Rossman, got fouled on a three pointer as time expired. She made all three free throws to send it into overtime, and the Lady Jackets won (that whole play by play was in Eddy Jansen's voice.. a.k.a voice of the lady yellow jackets).
Though that game was fantastic, I must say that I would like it more if we just beat them by 35-40 points. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Break Fun!

Hey everyone!
It's been a busy break for the Lady Yellow Jackets! The great thing is that most of our time is spent eating, sleeping, and playing basketball. Otherwise the passed two weeks we have visited Camp Cheerful together and hung out with all the super cute campers! They also came to our game to watch us defeat Wilmington as they cheered us on and help up the awesome signs we all made together.  We also helped out at the BW annual Christmas Party and canned food drive to help collect cans, it was all fun and games until two BW party guests got stuck in the handicap elevator :( it took about 20 minutes to get them out. which was scary, but they got out safely and enjoyed the rest of the party :)

Today is the first big snow fall of December!! Some people are excited, others are not haha guess that means Christmas time is officially here :) Tomorrow we face Otterbein at home, and will obviously win and beat their butts! After taking care of business we have a nice couple days off and we are back at it and traveling to Hope, Michigan. Two years ago my freshmen year when we went, it was so much fun and such a beautiful campus! Playing in there gym makes it seem like its an NBA game, its so big and fancy! My favorite part of the trip besides the game will of course be all the yummy foods we stop to eat along with if there is any spare time for shopping :) Well I hope everybody continues to cheer us on and has a wonderful holiday break with their family! Hope Santa treats everybody right :)

Christmas time is here!

Hey everyone!

Well it is a week until Christmas...but there is still no snow:( I love Christmas and snow and everything to do with winter! I am just wishing for a little snow on Christmas (and 2 wins before Christmas :P ).  This past weekend (after a good win over Wilmington) my family and I went to the Christmas Story House in downtown Cleveland.  It was such a fun experience!  It looked just like the original set and everything!  To add to the Christmas spirit, me and my brother attempted to make gingerbread houses last weekend as well.  The key word here is attempt.... We got our houses put together, but when we tried to decorate them, they just fell apart...so my brother just ended up eating them! It was still really fun to spend time with my brother though!

Speaking of my brother, we might have a future Yellow Jacket on our hands!:) He got accepted to BW and he came up on Thursday for a football visit! (I may be pushing for him to come here...just maybe...)

Anyways...here are some pictures from this weekend! The first one I am pretending to lick the flag pole like the little kid does in the Christmas Story! (notice the lack of snow...), the second one is my salvaged gingerbread houses! I think they turned out pretty decent. And the last picture is my family at the Christmas Story house!

Well this is all I have for you! Merry Christmas and AWWWWW JACKETS!

Hello everyone!!

Well all of the lady jackets have seemed to survive finals week, and happy to be on Christmas break! I know personally it is exciting to be able to have a month of from school work to revamp my brain for next semester. However, my spring semester will be very different for me because I will be doing my student teaching. I am very excited to student teach, it will be a fun learning experience that brings me closer to graduation in May!

Also, last Friday we had a yummy dinner at Buca, followed by a very fun evening at Camp Cheerful. It was SO awesome to get to hang out with the campers again. We played bingo and then we made signs with them to bring to the game on Saturday. Just in case you were wondering, the sign making turned out fantastic.
I was lucky to hang out with Rob, in the picture below we are coloring our awesome sign!

Hello everyone, my name is Janaya and I'm a freshman. So far i love it here at BW and it's been such a great experience. If you follow our team you know that we are having and okay season so far but it is getting better each day. I absolutely love my team and the chemistry we share. If you have read Rachel's blog a couple months ago, you probably saw that she said she was trying to fit XBox time in her schedule. Well, she finally did, after about six months of broken promises. I finally played Black Ops II with her and i realized why she didnt want me to play with her... she's not too good. But its okay. Also, some of the freshman(Allyson, Alissa and I) are currently and always will be the masters of pranking. 4-0. I am enjoying my winter break without classes and I'm looking forward to keep winning and enjoying the company of my teammates before its time to graduate :( Byeeeeeeeeeeeee

this is a picture of Mine and partially Rachel's  former Pup :) her name was Tanner and i thought i would show you how cute she was

One More Week!

Hello everyone!

I cannot believe that we are already a month into our basketball season, it seems like conditioning was just yesterday.  But we are all glad that is over with, that's for sure.  This season is flying by and I am lucky to have the teammates that I do.  We also seem to have a blast when we get together and I cannot wait until Christmas break when we can hang out and play basketball.

As everyone can see from the pictures coach posted the other day, our team attended the Adapted Ed Dance.  I don't think I have ever had as much fun in my life at a dance.  Seeing all of the people dancing, making gingerbread men, human mummies, and picture frames for their pictures was an amazing feeling.  Shari even got to hold her new friend Brandon's hand as he left the dance to complete his perfect night! :)

As the semester finally comes to an end, finals week arrives.  Let's say I am not enjoying finals week and it hasn't fully arrived, as I know must of you feel the same way.  However, once this week is over you can bet we will spend the entire month off making memories together.  This season may not have started off how we hoped but I believe we will succeed in the end because we manage to find fun in everything we do together and that will pay off in the end!

Winners at Life

So tonight our team spent time at the Candy Land Dance.  It's an event the Adapted PE class led by Marianne Mangan puts on for special needs kids and adults. There are activities and a dance. Our kids aren't in the class but took it upon themselves to do this. We  may not win every game, but these kids are definitely winners in life!!!  Can't say enough about them. I may get frustrated when we don't do the things we work on all the time, but I couldn't be more proud of who they are as people.
